Three steps. Once.

Up and running in about two minutes.

No account, no config files, no dubbing to download. Install it, open a show, press play.

1

Install the extension

One click from the Chrome Web Store — or a quick manual install during beta.

2

Open Netflix or YouTube

Pick a show. The sublingo button appears right in the player's controls.

3

Press play

Translated subtitles appear within seconds. Switch your language in the popup anytime.

Why sublingo

Not another dub. Translations that feel like they were always there.

Every show, both platforms

Works on every title, every episode. Auto-enables English captions when a show needs them, and hides them the moment you want translation only.

YouTube N Netflix

Real-time, no waiting

The first translated lines land within seconds of pressing play. The rest fills in as you watch — and it's cached, so the next time is instant.

Bilingual or immersion

Stack both languages to learn, or hide the original for pure immersion. Toggle anytime.

Privacy-respecting

We translate the caption file the platform already serves — never your account, history, or the video itself.

Style it your way

Font size, color, background. Pick your OpenAI model for accuracy vs. speed. Settings follow you across devices.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

How much does it cost?

Free to use — up to an hour of translated video a day, no account. Watching more than that? A one-time $29.95 Pro unlock removes the cap, adds every source, and includes a year of updates. No subscription. See pricing.

How accurate are the translations?

Powered by OpenAI's GPT-4o family — far better than most automatic dubs, preserving context, idioms, and tone across cues. Pick the model in settings: mini for speed, full for tricky dialogue.

Is it private?

We translate the subtitle text the platform already publishes — nothing about your account, viewing history, or video. Cue text is sent for translation and not stored beyond that request.

Which browsers work?

Any Chromium-based browser — Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Opera. Firefox and Safari support is on the roadmap.

What languages will you add next?

Driven by demand — tell us which one you need and we'll prioritize it.
