Terms of Use

Effective August 18, 2026 · sublingo is operated by Importify Limited, Unit 1603, 16th Floor, The L. Plaza, 367–375 Queen's Road Central, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong · support@sublingo.app

1. Who we are and what this covers

These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Importify Limited ("we", "us") and govern your use of the sublingo browser extension, the sublingo.app website, and related services (together, "sublingo"). By installing or using sublingo you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.

2. What sublingo does

sublingo translates video subtitles with AI and displays the translation as an overlay on supported streaming sites, and can optionally live-caption streams using real-time speech-to-text. Translation quality is best-effort: machine translation can be wrong, and we don't guarantee accuracy, completeness, or availability on any particular site.

3. Your account

Some features require signing in with Google. You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your access secure. One account is for one person.

4. Plans, billing, and cancellation

Payments are processed by PayPro Global as merchant of record; their checkout terms apply, and prices may be subject to local taxes handled by PayPro. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. You can cancel anytime via the customer portal linked in the extension — your plan stays active until the end of the paid period, then drops to Free. For refund requests, contact support@sublingo.app or PayPro Global support. We may change prices with notice; changes apply from your next billing period.

5. Bring-your-own-key features

Some features run on API keys you supply (OpenAI for the one-time license, Soniox for live captioning). Your keys stay in your browser's local storage, are sent only to the respective provider (directly or via our proxy), and their usage costs are billed to you by that provider under your agreement with them. You're responsible for keeping your keys valid, funded, and secure.

6. Acceptable use

sublingo is for your personal, non-commercial viewing. You agree not to: resell, redistribute, or share access to the service; abuse, overload, probe, or circumvent our systems or plan limits; use the service to infringe anyone's rights; or reverse-engineer the software except where the law expressly permits it. sublingo translates subtitles the streaming service already delivers to your browser for your own viewing — it does not remove copy protection, download video, or grant access to content you're not subscribed to. You're responsible for complying with the terms of the streaming services you use.

7. Third-party platforms

sublingo is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Netflix, HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, Crunchyroll, Stremio, Plex, Zoom, or any other platform; their names belong to their owners. Streaming sites change frequently, and a change can break functionality on that site until we ship an update — that's inherent to how extensions work and not a defect we can warrant against.

8. Intellectual property

We own the sublingo software, brand, and site. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the extension as intended. Subtitle content belongs to its rights holders; translations are provided for your personal viewing only.

9. Disclaimers and liability

sublingo is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims arising out of or relating to sublingo is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Termination

You can stop using sublingo and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate access that breaches these terms or abuses the service; where reasonable, we'll warn first.

11. General

These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Hong Kong courts. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date, and continued use means acceptance. Contact: support@sublingo.app.
